Scott Maskin co-founded SUNation Solar Systems in 2003 and currently serves as President and CEO. As the company operations leader, his hands-on approach has driven SUNation’s growth and branding. Scott has a PhD from the School of Hard knocks. From 1980-1987 Scott traveled as an electrician and pyrotechnician for large touring musical, theatrical and industrial tours. The climate of conquering insurmountable tasks on a daily basis honed Scott’s organizational and communication skills and laid the foundation for everything that was to follow. Post 1987, Scott worked as a traditional electrician and obtained his Master Electrician’s license in 1994 and went out on his own. The next 18 years were filled with countless electrical and general contracting projects including hotels, large retail box stores, restaurants and thousands of residential installations. Just completing projects was never enough for Scott. Being a complete solution provider and never forgetting the importance of total customer satisfaction, will always be paramount to Scott. Solar became a passion and a direction in 2001. The mission of making the world a better place for his family, friends and fellow Long Islanders gave birth to what SUNation is, a collaborative of like-minded people who enjoy similar passions for family, the workplace and the environment. When not acting as Captain on the SUNation ship, Scott is an avid family man spending time boating, beaching and skiing and just enjoying what experiences come his way.

Tesla Solar Panels
Maximum Power
The Tesla module is one of the most powerful residential photovoltaic modules available. Tesla’s system requires up to 20 percent fewer modules to achieve the same power as a standard system. The module boasts a high conversion efficiency and a half-cell architecture that improves shade tolerance.
Beautiful Solar
Featuring Tesla’s black on black design, the all-black module connects easily with Tesla components to keep panels close to your roof and close to each other for a blended aesthetic.
Reliability
Tesla modules are subject to automotive-grade engineering scrutiny and quality assurance, far exceeding industry standard.
Efficient Solar Production
Tesla solar panels are designed to be highly efficient, delivering maximum solar production year-round, even on roofs with complicated angles. Powered by Tesla Solar Inverter, your fully integrated system is safe and reliable.
What is the Tesla Powerwall?
The Tesla Powerwall is a solar storage battery that allows you to maintain a sustained power supply during the day or night. With the Tesla Powerwall, you can store the extra electricity generated by your panels to use as backup in the event of a power outage or when your panels aren’t actively converting the energy into electricity. With the ability to work with or without solar, the Powerwall allows you to store energy for later use.
How does it work with solar?
Powerwall integrates with solar to store any excess energy generated during the day and makes it available when you need it, minimizing your reliance on your utility. Each Powerwall system has at least one Powerwall and a Tesla Gateway, which monitors energy, metering, and management for the system. It’s also equipped with a Backup Gateway that receives over-the-air updates.
Solar panels convert the sun’s rays into electricity, supplying renewable energy to your home throughout the day and charging your Powerwall. Powerwall is charged by solar during the day, when the solar panels are producing more electricity than the home is using. Powerwall then stores that energy until it’s needed, like at night or when the utility grid is offline during a power outage. Each day, solar recharges the Powerwall, giving you a fresh cycle of clean, renewable energy.
